If We Could Turn Back Time
Today I finally got Daisy to confront her husband about our love for each other. He completely dismissed it and had me drive Daisy home myself. When we left New York Daisy was very nervous and she thought it would steady her to drive. While passing a gas station, a woman rushed out at us just as we were passing another car coming the other way. First Daisy turned away from the woman toward the other car, and then she lost her nerve and turned back. I tried to turn the wheel but my attempt was in vain. It must have killed her instantly. Daisy stepped on it. I tried to make her stop but she couldn't. Of course I'll say I was the one driving. I stood outside Daisy's house all night to make sure that Tom wouldn't bother about the unpleasantness of the afternoon. I would wait for days if it were necessary. Just to make sue that she would be safe.
Her Waited Arrival
When I thought the closest I would ever get to my dear Daisy would be across the bay from the green light that burns at the end of her dock, I found Nick Carraway. How perfect is it that my new neighbor is the cousin to the love of my life? When I asked Nick to do me a little favor by asking Daisy over for tea, i thought my plan was fool proof. Everything would be perfect! i would come over and Daisy would see me and everything would be as it was before the war. I was so nervous about everything being just right. I even had my gardener mow Nick's lawn. As it drew closer and closer to the time of Daisy's arrival, I began to worry that she would never show. I panicked and began to wonder if all my intentions would mean nothing to her. What if all my love was a waist. Five years of pining away for a married woman turned to a pathetic attempt for true love. Once she did arrive, I couldn't believe how beautiful was. I had forgotten how utterly perfect had been. How graceful and charming she had remained. At first, it was awkward between us. As if an unanswered question was hanging in the air. If I could only prove to her that I can provide for her just as much as that Tom Buchanan can. Then she would realizes that she belongs with me and she would leave him.
The Good/Bad times in the past
Well back in the good old days Daisy and I were in love, that was before I left for the war. Daisy and I met in Louisville when I was stationed in Camp Taylor as a young officer before being shipped overseas during World War One. Daisy was pretty popular around the officers and one time I went with the officers to visit Daisy, it was my first time meeting Daisy. After a while, I went to Daisy's house alone without the other guys. Our love began for some several months before I had to leave for the war. Five years past, and we meet again in West egg where I bought a huge mansion. Daisy got married to Tom. I saw Daisy again when Nick(her cousin) invited her for tea and I was visiting Nick too. I thought Daisy and I had a special connection, but I guess not. She was the girl of my life, and I loved and will always love her. Then I lost her, and its killed my heart in a second.
Upon my arrival
When I arrived home from World War One I was eager to see the only love of my life and start a family. I was stunned to find Daisy Buchanan was a bride to a wealthy man by the name of Tom Buchanan. I thought her heart belonged to me. My heart now aches from this pain that she is gone. I need to win her back! She will one day realize she made a mistake. My plan to win my love is to follow a few steps. She will be my motivation to become rich. I will move into a house close to her. Every night i will wait for her. And every night I watch the green light at the end of her dock, burning like a beacon of hope.
How it all Started
As you all might know me as Jay Gatsby, that's not my birth name I was given, which was James Gatz. It all started when I met this older age man named Dan Cody. Back then when my name was James Gatz, who was from North Dakota wasn't easy to say you know. I changed my name at the age of seventeen when I witness the being of my career, when I saw Dan Cody's yacht drop an anchor over the most insidious flat on Lake Superior. I was walking along the beach, but when I saw that I got on a boat and I rowed and I warned Cody that the wind might catch him and break him in half in an hour. After a year, I James Gatz was working on the shore of Lake Superior as a clam digger and a salmon fisher or any other job that give me food and a bed. One day I got a job with Cody, who was fifty-five years old. I worked as a mate, skipper, secretary, even jailor for Cody. Cody in five years died, and he left me twenty five thousand dollars, but his rude, mean wife didn't let me get the money. Cody left me with much more then money, he gave me an education and the start of my life. That was the end of James Gatz and the start of Jay Gatsby.
Love is what I call it
The past is like a sculpture,
which never dies out.
You made me smile then,
and you still make me smile now.
When you moved on,
and forgot all about me.
You met someone somewhat familiar,
But not the same as me.
I never told you how much I love you,
Now that's all I would say and nothing else.
Each moment I'm with you there's sunlight,
Slanting through the prism of my self.
I am no longer who I was,
But I will always be yours.
In all my passions and desires,
All we had will be restored.
So don't turn away from me,
Just remember the past.
And we in our embrace shall dance,
To us which will always last.
